Groundbreak: Painting Extra Place

FABnyc's ArtUp program sponsored its first opening on Saturday, Nov. 19 in Artist Alley at Extra Place, an alley on E. 1st St. between Bowery and 2nd Ave. The show, entitled "Groundbreak," features sidewalk paintings from artists Jon Burgerman, Abe Lincoln Jr. and Ellis Gallagher. A portion of Burgerman's piece is pictured above. Click to the jump to view a gallery with two additional photos. The work will be on display through March 18, 2012.

YBNYers Benjamin Cramer and Lauren Pasculli followed events Thursday as they unfolded around the city on "N17," the two month anniversary of the start of the #OccupyWallStreet movement. Russell Simmons joined protesters this morning near the New York Stock Exchange.
