De La Soul returns to Brooklyn
In what was touted their first performance in Brooklyn in 10 years, De La Soul headlined this year's Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival, put on by Brooklyn Bodega yesterday. Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Curren$y, Fashawn - among many others - also played to a packed lot under the Brooklyn bridge, and the crowd was treated to guest appearances by hip hop frontiersman Marley Marl, DJ Premier and Grand Master Caz. Above: De La's Posdnuos points at a fan, while U.S. Congresswoman Yvette Clarke (D-Brooklyn) watches in the background. Tomorrow: more pics from the festival on YBNY.

Low Brow = High Brow
On Saturday, the well-styled graffiti and apparel shop, Low Brow Artique, opened a show of rapper Broke MC's art, featuring stencils and collage work as tribute to deceased cultural icons, i.e. Kurt Vonnegut, Jim Henson and Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita).
